What's new?

 

We are now moving into the next phase of our ongoing updates and will begin updating iWorkplace Library Builder from 2nd April 2024 onwards. These updates are being made inline with Microsoft's latest best practice recommendations and take advantage of the latest functionality.

 

Please note that you will no longer be able to access Library Builder from the Site Contents menu. Instead, you should access Library Builder settings from the iWorkplace Settings page.

How lists and libraries are created

Previously, the creation process started as soon as you clicked the Create button and you couldn't move from that page until it was complete.

 

We are now using a queue system to address these issues. When you first create a new list or library, you will see the following message. 

 

When you click on Ok, you will be taken to the My last request tab so that you can monitor the item being created. You can also continue to use SharePoint or even close the browser.

"My Request" Views

My last request

This view is automatically displayed when you create a new list or library. It can also be accessed at any time. Initially, it will display a single line, showing the item has been requested.

 

When the item starts to be processed, the Status changes and entries begin to appear in the detailed log as each step is completed. Once complete, the Status will state it's completed, and you will be able to click on the link to the Library/List under the Name column.

My last 10 requests

Optional functionality

Copying contents of a template

In some cases you may have a template that contains sample documents or list items. This option lets you copy these items to the new library or list when using library builder.

 

This is only intended for copying a small number of items that you would expect to find in a template. The copy process may take a while. This should not be used to copy 'production' libraries and lists from one site to another.

 

This will only appear if Enable copy contents? is ticked within the Library Builder settings. By default this option is disabled

Destination Teams

Once the template has been selected, you can choose to select the destination team the list or library will reside in. This menu will show the current team you are in as This Team, as well as all of the teams you are an owner of. 

 

This will only be applicable if Enable team picker? is ticked within the Library Builder settings. By default this option is disabled.
