Planning for the future at Information Leadership

As Information Leadership approaches its 20th anniversary, co-founders Sarah Heal and Grant Margison are not resting on their laurels. With 65+ staff nationwide they are passionate about making work better with innovative solutions for customers needing serious information management.

Their iWorkplace Suite of products is already helping well over 100 organisations boost their productivity, protect and manage their information, and govern information effectively.  And demand is increasing with the widespread interest in, and adoption, of AI.

“It’s been really exciting to see the shift in customer interest towards Information Protection and Compliance” says Sarah, “this is an area where we’ve got really deep technical expertise and we’re looking forward to continuing to deliver top quality solutions to our customers. In particular for our Council and government agency customers information often resides in legacy systems and is at best semi-structured. To get the most from AI, this needs to be analysed, moved or deleted so that AI results are useful and trustworthy”

With this solid foundation in place, Grant and Sarah are looking to the future.

They have engaged experienced CEO and Director Charlotte Walshe as their Advisory Board chair.

The board is now working to refine and execute strategic objectives while recognising and supporting the needs and priorities of the business. Sarah and Grant felt the time was right to bring in an external viewpoint, acknowledging Charlotte’s relentless focus on quality, expertise in both domestic and international markets and her willingness to challenge them.

Under Charlotte’s guidance, Sarah and Grant hope to redefine for themselves what it means to be an owner and director. This handing over of operating the business includes how managers can be empowered and accountable for results.

“When owners have been in business for 20 years, it can be easy to get tired of it and want to move on” says Sarah, “that couldn’t be further from the truth for Grant and me. We want to build this next chapter of IL and we’re doing that with a great team of people around us.”

The formation of the advisory board is already changing the way IL serves its customers. Dedicated product, relationship and delivery teams are paving the way for continuous product improvements and closer connections with customers.

With the introduction of the advisory board, IL is set to navigate the twists and turns of the market with confidence and poise. It's not just about staying relevant; it's about setting the pace for others to follow in the dynamic world of Information Protection and Compliance.
